CAN I SLEEP WITH THESE THINGS ON ME?

Most people have no problem sleeping.  The wires are long enough and small enough and attached in a way that you can still turn and move during sleep.  None of the electrodes break the skin or are painful.  There is also no problem with going to the restroom at any time.  Dream Away Sleep Labs will make your testing experience as pleasant and comfortable as possible.

WILL I BE GIVEN MEDICINE TO HELP ME SLEEP?

No medications are kept in the sleep lab.  You will need to bring and take you’re normal medication. Do not stop any of your routine medications without first consulting your physician.  You’re sleep physician may prescribe a sleeping for the test if deemed appropriate.

ARE OTHERS GOING TO BE IN THE ROOM OVERNIGHT?

Sleep Technicians will be monitoring you throughout the night from a separate control room.  The technicians are available to assist you in any way. They may come in to you’re room to adjust equipment or start treatment.  During sleep, the body functions differently than while awake.

WILL I BE REQUIRED TO GET A FOLLOW-STUDY?

It is recommended that you follow up with you’re sleep physician.  They can monitor you’re response to therapy and keep you up to date with new treatments.  Repeat studies may be indicated as parts of you’re ongoing care.

Will INSURANCE COVER MY STUDY?

Insurance companies recognize the importance of treating sleep disorders and will usually cover testing and treatment.  Dream Away Sleep Labs will inform you of any insurance problems prior to testing.
